I was under the impression that the tactical loads would work, they were simply not recommended, combine that with the fact that military ammo is on the low side of 2500 fps...wtf are you messing with that stuff for anyways?

I have done a little research and something really sticks about this. First the REC 7 already has the Modified chamber. So, either they fed you a line of S**t or you no longer have a chrome chamber. IMHO hotter is usually not better when it comes to ammo. All firearms have a "sweetspot" when it comes to ammo and accuracy and hotter is usually not the way to go. Also for a Tct round I would think that hotter would cause problems with over penetration. Just my opinion. I would hate to be the good guy on the otherside of the wall behind your target.

I recommend making this a sticky thread because it seems like no matter how many times its hammered into the ground that the Rec 7 is perfect, its the ammo thats not recommended and you shouldn't go reaming the chrome out of your Barrett custom chamber, people still don't get it.

with most manufactures loading hotter you really need to watch what you feed to barretts. I made mine simple I use the barrett mags loaded with the lighter stuff in my rec7's and I use the good stuff in my other rifles.
there is a huge difference in 2550fps from a 110gr to a 3253 fps from a 90gr tnt
