What is more accurate 82A1 or 99?

I have a new Barrett 99 with 32" bull barrel and have the chance to trade for a new barrett 82A1 ( 1 1/2years old model) with 29" fluted barrel. Accuracy is most imporatnt to me and I wanted to know ( same scope, rings ammo) which rifle is more accurate? I will be shooting at 1000 yards.
If there is a difference in accuracy what would it be?

If you can - just buy the 82A1 and keep the M99. Otherwise I'd suggest keeping the M99. Unless you're planning on going to war in the near future and need to take out hardened targets.

Since accuracy is most important - Assuming that both rifles are spec'd right - The M99 will outshoot the 82A1 any day and all day. Plus, the M99 is a snap to maintain compared to the 82A1. A LOT less parts to be concerned with [KISS, whenever possible].

It's rare to have an 82A1 that will shoot 1.5 MOA repeatedly at longer ranges. At least that's what "normal" shooters seem to be doing. Now that's still pretty good for a Semi, but if you do your part with a properly set up M99; and shoot good ammo, you should be able to shoot sub-MOA with the M99.

Will an 82A1 shoot this good?? See below.... Maybe..... But I doubt it...
Anyway just my $.02 - Whatever you decide will work best for you, I'm sure.

I like the "Shadow Concept." Each has its advantages, but if accuracy is your prime concern, and you only want one rifle, there's no comparison.

If my 82 would consistently shoot 1.5 m.o.a, I'd do backflips.

ill second shadow on all accounts. keep the m99 if u can n get the 82a1, but for the best accuracy stick with the m99

Thanks for you help. I will keep the 99 and only do a Python (3 NIB ) trade for the 82A1.

Shadow's comments echo my experience.

There is nothing better for sending numerous rounds down range then the M82 or M107. However for accuracy the M99 is in a different league.
