M95 modified for .416

Postby maximus_miridius » Sat 20 Mar, 2010 3:05 am

I, like others i'm sure, admire the m99 in .416 for its range and accuracy but wish that .416 could come in a magazine fed rifle. A solution, i propose, is to somehow replace the M95's .50 barrel with a .416 barrel from an M99. I don't know how either rifles barrells are attached, or if they mount the same way. Does anyone know if this is possible, or tried it? Also would the .50 cal bolt be able to cycle .416 rounds properly? thanks

Hello...

I don't know the answer to your question, but like yourself, I'd be happy if I could get a M95 chambered in .416 as well. The M99 in .416 is an amazingly accurate rifle, but would be really awesome if we could get the M95 in .416 as well.

Sincerely,
Justin C.

I came here today to find out that very question. Can a model 95 be modified to shoot .416? Can anyone answer that question?

Add me to the wish list for the M95 to also come in .416 Barrett. I almost bought the M95, but I couldn't ignore the ballistics the .416 has, so I bought the M99 in .416. Adding more rate of fire to bolt action .416 would make this unbelievable weapon. Yes I know I can get a M82A1 in .416, but I am a bolt gunner! Bolts will always be more accurate than any semi auto.
